Shampoo Bars - An update
After two and a half years of research, and completing a diploma in organic hair care, I was still unable to find ingredients that came close to replacing the ones we had in our extremely popular conditioning shampoo bars.
While our products have never included palm oil as an ingredient, we learned that palm is used in the extraction process of certain fruit-based oils in hair and skincare.
Having always chose the ‘palm free option’ we were devastated that this option was taken away from us and so many other makers. The reality is that manufacturers continue to prioritise cost over ethics, and transparency around sourcing remains limited. Throughout the last few years, we have spend so much time and money exploring the best ingredients on the market to formulate something that would come close to what we had and that just didn’t happen.
You asked - we listened
After listening hard to your views, our stockist & wholesalers, we carefully considered the idea of bringing them back. Discussions with our suppliers assured us that the palm element of the product is 100% certified as sustainable. Whilst it's not with the palm free ingredients we had hoped for we have decided to bring the shampoo bars back and are choosing to share this information openly so our customers can make informed choices. We will continue to seek other ingredients but for now this is the situation.
We know so many of you will be delighted to hear the news that The shampoo bars are now available again, and we welcome your feedback from you on all aspects of our decision and if you haven't tried them, please let us know what you think.
Thank you for your continued support.

Side note: The organic hair care diploma has deepened my interest in developing more considered, plant-based formulas, so we expect to introduce new products in 2026.
